Tottenham Hotspur captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was arrested in central London on Friday morning for drunken driving following a failed roadside breathalizer test, according to authorities.
Lloris, 31, was stopped at around 2:20 a.m. and was taken to Charing Cross police station where he was officially charged and released after posting bail, according to ESPN FC.
“Hugo Lloris, 31, of East Finchley was charged with drink driving on Friday, 24 August. He has been bailed to return to Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 September.”
“The club takes matters such as this extremely seriously and it will be dealt with internally,” a club spokesperson said.
