FC Barcelona is reportedly working on a big name signing “in secret,” according to a report from Diario SPORT’s Toni Juanmarti.
Per the report, “while other names are being leaked, a great operation led by Éric Abidal gets closer.”
“The club knows that Real Madrid will strengthen and they are thinking about answering [their president, Florentino Pérez],” Juanmarti reported. “Paulinho’s exit leaves space for a first-class midfielder. And with first-class cost, too.”
Many are speculating that the “big name” is Manchester United’s Paul Pogba who was been underwhelming during his tenure with the club.
Abidal and Pogba are both French, and have a strong personal relationship, making a strong link that much clearer.
Furthermore, according to Express.co.uk, in a report from July 14th, agent Mino Raiola has pointed his client to leave Old Trafford, and has spoken to Nou Camp bosses earlier this week to gauge their interest in his client.
