Bayern Munich have agreed a deal to sign Alphonso Davies from the Vancouver Whitecaps, according to reports.
Davies, a 17-year old Canadian phenom, will remain with the Whitecaps until the end of the MLS season because he needs to be 18 to play in a official game for Bayern.
On Tuesday, the two clubs had reached an agreement for a base transfer fee of $13 million, with performance-related add-ons that could bring the total to $19 million, a record for an MLS export, according to The Athletic.
“Nothing is final yet but it’s looking good,” Bayern coach Niko Kovac said. “He is a big talent, he’s young and very fast.”
Davies was named to the MLS All-Star team for the upcoming game against Juventus on August 1st.
